Blog 6: Post Graduate Studies

 

Hello everyone, today I am going to talk about a postgraduate study that I would like to study.

In my case, as a student of Art Theory and History, the subjects of the degree are mainly divided into two fields of knowledge. The first is Art History, which focuses on the study of the problematic of representation under a system of chronological frameworks. The second is the line of aesthetics and its approach studies the problematic of representation, not only in art, but also in the human sensitive experience of the world. Personally, I am more interested in the latter because I think it is broader because, not only does it work on art, now that it is a discipline that grew out of Philosophy. 

I would like to study a Department of Aesthetics, Sciences and Technologies of the Arts at the University of Paris 8 in France, because many of the authors I have studied, were or are professors at this university. I hope they will give me a scholarship to study at Paris 8, if I want to study there, I need to learn English and French. That is why I intend to do these studies in a few more years, meanwhile, I want to work and be able to build a CV, and I would also like to work on some research.

Blog 9: Changes to My Study Program

  Hello there. In this opportunity I´m go to talk about changes in my study program of Art Theory and History at the University of Chile. When I entered this career, the study programme had just been changed and my generation was only the second with the new programme. Therefore, in the time I have been in my career, the new curriculum has been adjusted because of the testing process that is in course. One of the biggest changes that has taken place is the change from a thesis to a dissertation. This reduces the extension of the final work required for graduation and accommodates it within the four years of the undergraduate programme. I consider it is beneficial for us as students, as it removes some of the stress that is involved in a thesis. I think the new curriculum has adapted well, though there were obvious problems caused by the pandemic, particularly with respect to internships. Blog 10: English Language Challenges.

Hello everyone. In this opportunity I will tell you about my experience learning English at university. In the second semester of 2019 I was taking English II for the first time. In this moment I was very excited to take English class again, because since 2015 I have not taken any kind of classes. Except for the experience of living with English speakers in 2016. but when I was taking English II, I didn't remember much. The English course in 2019 started off very well, the professor was nice, but due to the context of our faculty, which was on strike, I stopped living in Santiago, everything became more difficult after October, therefore the English course was cancelled, so stop worrying about English. Already in the first semester of 2020, I was determined to progress with the English courses.
