Blog 9: Changes to My Study Program
Hello there.
In this opportunity I´m go to talk about changes in my study program of Art Theory and History at the University of Chile.
When I entered this career, the study programme had just been changed and my generation was only the second with the new programme. Therefore, in the time I have been in my career, the new curriculum has been adjusted because of the testing process that is in course. One of the biggest changes that has taken place is the change from a thesis to a dissertation. This reduces the extension of the final work required for graduation and accommodates it within the four years of the undergraduate programme. I consider it is beneficial for us as students, as it removes some of the stress that is involved in a thesis.
I think the new curriculum has adapted well, though there were obvious problems caused by the pandemic, particularly with respect to internships. Before the pandemic, one of the characteristics of the third year of the degree was that many professors organised visits to the museums, but now this has been impossible, and I feel that an important opportunity to get to know inside the work that is done in these places has been lost. It has already been agreed that next year's internships will be online, I understand the context, but it still demotivates me.
I would like to know. How have your careers adapted to the online format?
Thanks for reading.

I study fine arts and well, the online adaptation is very limited because there are many specialties that need the physical space provided by the university. and regarding the visits to the museums of your curriculum I find it super good, I think that in the visual arts career they should be compulsory from time to time, greetings!
