Blog 5: My Future Job
Hello everyone.
I am going to talk about a job I would like to do in the future.
For me, the best job in the future is to be a curator. Because I think that is a very important for interest the people in the reflection about her environment through the arts. I would like to be able to make exhibitions about artists from South America to present problems of our continental reality.
Nowadays the curator is also very much related to the administrative area in the arts, so I think it's a good place to discuss cultural policy in Chile, especially about artistic creation and cultural activities, because the system of financing art is very precarious and influences artistic creation a lot.
I would like to work from my region, considering the great centralism of our country, I am interested in knowing the work of people linked to the places where I grew up. and help to open spaces for its diffusion.
One
of my references in this field is Gerardo Mosquera, the Cuban curator who
organised the first Havana Biennial in 1984. In his texts he writes about the
re-signification of Latin American art, discussing the colonial dynamics in
which art moves in a globalised world. I would very much like to work along the
lines of the discussions he has raised.
Thanks for reading.
