Blog 5: My Future Job

Hello everyone.

I am going to talk about a job I would like to do in the future.

For me, the best job in the future is to be a curator. Because I think that is a very important for interest the people in the reflection about her environment through the arts. I would like to be able to make exhibitions about artists from South America to present problems of our continental reality.

Nowadays the curator is also very much related to the administrative area in the arts, so I think it's a good place to discuss cultural policy in Chile, especially about artistic creation and cultural activities, because the system of financing art is very precarious and influences artistic creation a lot.

I would like to work from my region, considering the great centralism of our country, I am interested in knowing the work of people linked to the places where I grew up. and help to open spaces for its diffusion.

One of my references in this field is Gerardo Mosquera, the Cuban curator who organised the first Havana Biennial in 1984. In his texts he writes about the re-signification of Latin American art, discussing the colonial dynamics in which art moves in a globalised world. I would very much like to work along the lines of the discussions he has raised.

  Hello everyone, in this opportunity I´m go to talk about one of my favourite’s hobbies. I have been a Star Wars fan since I was a kid. I even today watch the movies and series with my dad. Blog 9: Changes to My Study Program

  Hello there. In this opportunity I´m go to talk about changes in my study program of Art Theory and History at the University of Chile. When I entered this career, the study programme had just been changed and my generation was only the second with the new programme. Therefore, in the time I have been in my career, the new curriculum has been adjusted because of the testing process that is in course. One of the biggest changes that has taken place is the change from a thesis to a dissertation. This reduces the extension of the final work required for graduation and accommodates it within the four years of the undergraduate programme. I consider it is beneficial for us as students, as it removes some of the stress that is involved in a thesis. I think the new curriculum has adapted well, though there were obvious problems caused by the pandemic, particularly with respect to internships. Blog 10: English Language Challenges.

Hello everyone. In this opportunity I will tell you about my experience learning English at university. In the second semester of 2019 I was taking English II for the first time. In this moment I was very excited to take English class again, because since 2015 I have not taken any kind of classes. Except for the experience of living with English speakers in 2016. but when I was taking English II, I didn't remember much. The English course in 2019 started off very well, the professor was nice, but due to the context of our faculty, which was on strike, I stopped living in Santiago, everything became more difficult after October, therefore the English course was cancelled, so stop worrying about English. Already in the first semester of 2020, I was determined to progress with the English courses.
